Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Interest Meeting

Tax season is approaching and we are seeking volunteer tax preparers to participate in our annual Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program. The Hunter College VITA Program offers free income tax preparation services to low-income individuals and families. As such, VITA is a worthwhile program that gives back to the community while providing an invaluable opportunity for volunteers to acquire experience in the tax field.

No prerequisites (accounting courses, accounting experience, etc.) are required to join — simply bring your enthusiasm and dedication to this wonderful cause!

Accounting Society's President Radhika Chohan and Vice Presidents Aya Ighneim and Melissa Monegro will be leading a presentation discussing everything you need to know regarding the VITA program. Topics such as training, lessons, certification, and program requirements will be discussed, so be sure to attend and be prepared to ask questions about the program! If you are interested in participating in the VITA program, your attendance to this interest meeting is mandatory toward your qualifications as a volunteer.
